Music has always been a strong passion of mine. At a young age I began playing the flute and piccolo in various concert bands as well as performing in musical theatre roles and choral programs. In high school, I auditioned for ILMEA and sang in the All State choir and All State Honors choir my junior and senior year, respectively. I was lucky enough to be ranked the top alto in District IX my senior year.
In 2012, I became a member of the award winning Ladies First A Cappella, Michigan State University's only all-female a cappella group. Here is where I fell in love with the contemporary a cappella genre and began to find my presence in the a cappella community. I am currently the music director of Ladies First, leading them to a showcase spot at the 2015 Kettering National A Cappella Festival, placing second at thei ICCA Quarterfinal moving on to ICCA Semifinals in Chicago, and hosted Michigan State's annual Accapalooza. In my group, I am a vocal percussionist, arranger, and singer. In January of 2016, I was an educator at the South Milwaukee A Cappella Festival. I taught alongside several a cappella professionals, teaching classes in intermediate vocal percussion and group singing, as well as masterclassing with two all-female high school groups! In March of 2016, I received the Outstanding Vocal Percussion award at the ICCA Semifinal in Chicago, Illinois. I am so honored and humbled to have received this award among so many talented vocal percussionists at this event.
I hope to continue my journey through the music world by teaching, singing, and creating music with my peers.
